The Mac Pro wasn’t updated at all from 2013 until 2019 when the new Mac Pro arrived. The problem with the 2013 Mac Pro was that it wasn’t constrained by its design to such an extent that Apple couldn’t even update it. The 2013 Mac Pro – which (perhaps prophetically) became known as the Trash Can Mac – could have mended the damage that had been done but unfortunately it made things even worse. This probably came to a head with the arrival of the 2013 Mac Pro, which came after years of complaint that Apple was neglecting creative pros and which Apple revealed at WWDC with much fanfare.
